Last 5k!

Last Saturday, on October the 15th, we ran our 4th 5k race of the summer, the Race for Pace, supporting a local school. It was a cold and blustery morning, with temperatures below 45 degrees. We weren’t feeling all that hot, and the weather and long hills on the course had us prepped for slower times than the fast race in Shadyside.

The race had a photographer there, who took pictures both at the start and at the finish line (just enter w/o putting in an email address). We lined up at the start pretty close to the front.

It can be hard getting going sometimes with all the traffic…

It was a moderately tough out and back course running on the local roads and we were glad to hit the final turn that took us in towards the school to finish. Tim had a last bit of energy at the end and passed a bunch of people up (everyone in these images).

And Janie came in looking great! Is she floating on air?

We were cold and ready to head home so we split after the race pretty quickly. Later on Sunday the times were posted and we saw that Janie finished 2nd in her class! And later in the week they mailed a medal!

So, although it was a cold day and we weren’t happy with our times, it was a success!
