Cubs at Pirates – 2nd game

On Sunday, July 10th we went to another Cubs-Pirates game, hoping the Cubs could pull off another win, like they did the night before. Thanks to the 10-game ticket plan benefits, we were able to pick 2 tickets in Pirates Baseball Club seats for any Su-Th game, so Tim picked this Sunday afternoon Cubs game and got front row seats down the 3rd base line. This section is in the front rows of the upper tier and has access to an ‘exclusive’ indoor air conditioned section with better food options than elsewhere in the park. There are also nice chairs and pool tables and tvs for people who want to stay inside. It was such a hot afternoon that quite a lot of people did just that.

On the south side of the park, next to the Allegheny River, there is a nice panoramic view of downtown Pittsburgh.

Game actionThe Pirates Parrot is a funny mascot. Here, it shoots t-shirts from arm cannons. Fans always go crazy for free stuff – we think they are all short on laundry.

Shooting t-shirtsWhile we were sweating in our seats, the Cubs weren’t doing much on the field. The Pirates handed down a beat-down, winning 9-1. The Cubs are back in town during the first week of August…we’ll be back for another game then.
